Police: Sioux City man stole truck, got it stuck on railroad tracks, then stole skid loader to get truck unstuck – Omaha World-Herald

SIOUX CITY (AP) – A Sioux City man has been charged after police say he stole a skid loader in an attempt to free a stolen pickup stuck on railroad tracks.

The incident happened Thursday, when police say a 36-year-old man drove the stolen truck over tracks and became stuck, according to the Sioux City Journal. Police said the man then walked to a nearby Bobcat dealership and stole one of the dealership’s skid loaders. Police said he damaged a fence when he drove the loader through it and also caused about $3,000 in damage to the loader’s door.

He remained jailed Saturday on theft, burglary and criminal mischief charges.
