Two teams from this area did us proud at the New York State Snow Sculpting Competition in Lake Placid.
Serge and Steve Sigouin and Grae Haldeman of Rodman won first place with their sculpture called “Grace.”
With the win they’ll advance to the national championships in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
The team of Joshua Howland and Derrick Howland of Carthage and Louis Howland of Natural Bridge captured second place, the people’s choice award and the artists choice award at the competition over the weekend.
The sculpture was titled “Into the Wild.”
