Iranian Musician Documentary Beyond The Bombs Debuts Worldwide Premiere At Hoboken International Film Festival

Realize Productions announced today their documentary “Beyond the Bombs” will hold its world premiere on May 22nd at 4:00PM as an official selection of the 2017 Hoboken International Film Festival. The film follows three Iranian musicians from hiding underground in Tehran to Los Angeles as they pursue their dream of performing despite their country’s ban on metal music. The screening will take place at Thomas P Morahan Waterfront Park, Greenwood Lake, New York. All ticket holders will receive a limited edition copy of the Underground Dream CD that was created during the making of the film. The film’s producers, band members and music producer will attend the film’s premiere. A Q&A will follow the screening.

“We are very excited to have the privilege to premiere our film at HIFF, the festival’s diversity and edge is a perfect fit. The fact that the musicians risked their lives to pursue freedom and their dream of metal music landed them here just goes to show that anything is possible if you believe enough in it.” States producer Michel Grey. The film is directed by Los Angeles director Robert Kraetsch and stars Iranian musicians Behzad Khakbaz, Amirali Khosravani, and Ali Reza along with Songwriter/Producer Paul Lewis and includes cameos from LA musicians including Duff McKagen from Guns & Roses. “Music can break through borders.” says lead singer/songwriter Behzad Khakbaz. The documentary was filmed in both Tehran, Iran and Los Angeles, CA beginning in 2012. Music producer Paul Lewis stated, “It was an enlightening and inspiring journey that I took with this group of talented gentlemen from another part of the world. We are still taking it together. Grateful that we are getting to share this with the world.”
