Members of the Owensville German-American Friendship Club will host a group of high school students over the eclipse weekend and their instructor will present an educational program on the great event on Sunday, Aug. 20, at Owensville High School.
Arndt Latusseck, who has a PhD in astronomy, will present a free program at 4 p.m. in the school’s small gym. He has witnessed five total eclipses around the world and will speak on his experiences. He is leading a visit to Owensville which includes a group of 17 of his high school science and math students and staff from Hildesheim, Germany.
Their community is east of the Altena, Germany, community which has a sister city friendship pact with the Owensville community.
