‘Welcome to Medicare’ programs offered

Blue Moon Benefits Group will hold three “Welcome to Medicare” sessions. The presentations are intended to help people understand the basics of Medicare and the available options.

The first session will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kernersville Library, 130 E. Mountain St., Kernersville.

The second session will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Broyhill Office Suites, 3540 Clemmons Road, Clemmons.

The third session will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Reynolda Manor Branch Library, 2839 Fairlawn Drive.

Advance directives workshop Tuesday

Hospice & Palliative CareCenter will hold a workshop on living wills and health-care powers of attorney at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the center, 101 Hospice Lane. Participants who complete documents will get copies. The workshop is free, but donations will be accepted.

Shepherd’s Center, Harris Teeter team up

Beginning Tuesday, the Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem will partner with the Harris Teeter Together In Education program for the 15th consecutive year to raise money to support Adventures in Learning, the center’s lifelong learning program.

To support the program, give the cashier your VIC card and the Shepherd’s Center code, 4958, when you check out. The program runs from August to May.

Once a card is linked, the Shepherd’s Center will receive a percentage of Harris Teeter brand purchases, including prescription drugs. This free program does not interfere with your VIC savings.
