THURMAN — The firm that is reviewing the town’s bookkeeping procedures for free has had Town Board member Michael Eddy as a client.
The board on Thursday voted to use the accounting firm of McCarthy & Conlon to “review the accounting ledgers and records.” It will be performed as a free assessment. Firm partner Michael McCarthy said Monday that he has known Town Board member Michael Eddy for years as a client.
“I offered to go up and see if their accounting records are up to date and look at their accounting policies and procedures,” McCarthy said.
McCarthy added that he wants to let the board members know if there are any obvious problems with the books.
