Trump derides lawyer Michael Cohen as 'weak person' after bombshell guilty plea

Trump's former lawyer had previously said talks about the Moscow project ended in January 2016 just prior to the Iowa caucuses.

But now Cohen isn't solving problems for Trump, he's causing them.

Cohen previously pleaded guilty in NY to violating federal campaign finance laws by arranging hush-money payments to women in 2016 "at the direction" of then-candidate Trump.

Cohen told told two congressional committees previous year that the talks about the tower project ended that January, a lie he said was an act of loyalty to Trump. There would have been nothing wrong if I did do it.

"Playtime is over", said Rick Wilson, a prominent Republican critic of Trump who has been sounding the alarm about Trump's connections to Russian Federation since 2016. He has said the project was in its early stages in the fall of 2015, as Trump's presidential campaign heated up.

Donald Trump for decades dreamed of building a Trump Tower in the heart of Moscow, a plan that flared and fizzled several times over the years, most recently when his presidential campaign was gaining momentum.

Trump's former lawyer said he lied "to be consistent with Individual One's political messaging and out of loyalty to Individual One".

Nothing said in court, or in associated court filings, addressed whether Trump or his aides had directed Cohen to mislead Congress.

"With regard to the hotel proposal in Moscow", Giuliani also said, "the President has been completely open and transparent". ASSUMING the trip does happen the question is before or after the convention. It isn't clear whether there's any link among Russians, American political figures and that change in the platform, although such a connection has always been a subject of speculation.

Under-fire Republican wins divisive Mississippi Senate vote
Espy resigned the Cabinet post in 1994 amid a special counsel investigation that accused him of improperly accepting gifts. The remarks highlighted the racist lynchings that marred Mississippi's history, a fact her opponent was quick to point out.

Michael Cohen walks out of federal court, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, in NY. He told the court he had arranged those payments, created to keep the women quiet before the presidential vote, at Trump's direction. They also discussed the possibility of Cohen meeting in June with Putin and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Cohen had also disclosed that Trump was personally aware of the deal, signing a letter of intent and discussing it with Cohen on two other occasions.

Jerome Corsi will file a criminal complaint against special counsel Robert Mueller by the end of the week, according to a new report.

Trump speculated that "what he's trying to do is get a reduced sentence".

Trump in the past denied any ongoing contacts with Moscow.

According to Cohen's latest testimony, the Trump Organisation was seeking to do business in Russian Federation into the middle of an election year.

"This is yet another example of the President's closest allies lying about their contacts with Russian Federation". He later said he was cooperating with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling and ties between the Trump campaign and Moscow. "Months later WikiLeaks released a stash of Democratic emails stolen by Russian intelligence officers". And Corsi has rejected Mueller's offer of probation rather than jail time if he will plead guilty to lying to investigators. Mueller, who served as Federal Bureau of Investigation director under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, was appointed special counsel to continue the probe after Comey's firing.

The other committee to which Cohen has now admitted lying was the House intelligence panel; its incoming chairman, California Rep. Adam Schiff, said on Thursday that the plea shows how important it will be to launch new investigations in 2019.
