The main story out of Detroit on Tuesday night was Blake Griffin's career-high 50-point performance, which included a game-winning and-one in the closing seconds of the Pistons' 133-132 overtime win over the 76ers. Drummond responded by referencing Embiid's inability to stay healthy and play in back-to-back games in the past.
After he scored, Drummond sort of tossed out a little chicken wing and Embiid tumbled over backwards to draw the technical foul.
Embiid and the Sixers next face the Pistons at home on November 3.
After the game, Embiid boasted that he owns "a lot of real estate" in Drummond's head.
Drummond was hit with his second technical foul and ejected with 42.8 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter when his hand brushed Embiid's face after a made basket by Philadelphia.
'Extremely dangerous' Hurricane Willa barrelling towards Mexico
The Hurricane Center said it could produce 3 to 6 inches (7.5 to 15 centimetres) of rain near the coast. A hurricane warning is in effect for 180 miles of Mexican Pacific coast between San Blas and Mazatlan.
Embiid said all he was doing was just talking and trying to win the game. Middleton, for example, finished the game with 25 points on 6-of-18 shooting, including a 10-for-10 conversion rate at the free throw line.
Last season, Embiid told reporters that Drummond "doesn't play any defense". It's gotten to the point where Embiid openly claims that Drummond can't guard him. The Sixers, at the time, led 98-91.
Pistons: Thursday they host Cleveland, which will be on a back-to-back after playing host to Brooklyn on Wednesday.
