ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that during practice Butler verbally challenged teammates, coaches and the Wolves front office, specifically targeting coach Tom Thibodeau, general manager Scott Layden and Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. But I think that's the problem. Was I brutally honest? Yes.
The frenemies played Wednesday for the first time this offseason - Butler has been missing from training camp - in a session that reportedly included him teaming with the third-stringers to beat the starters and a verbal assault on Layden, the former Knicks GM.
One of Jimmy Butler's teammates appears to have had enough of his antics. His message was similar to one he displayed Wednesday: I run this.
He said the fact he showed up to practice on Wednesday doesn't mean he's happy.
Aubameyang makes Premier League history, lauds Arsenal mentality after win
Arsenal has now 18 points from 8 games while Chelsea still has the chance to reclaim the lost spot when they face Southampton. The Gabon striker wasn't finished yet and, in the last minute, he smashed in Ramsey's pass for his sixth goal of the season.
Oh yeah, he and Dwyane Wade were benched for their lame version of leadership, and when it came time to lead with actions, Jimmy Drama was unable to help the Bulls win one measly playoff game against the Celtics after Rajon Rondo was injured.
It got to the point where the noted Boston sports zealot was publicly lobbying the Celtics to trade for Butler. Butler had been away from the team while the Wolves were in California for a preseason bonding trip.
"You gotta think, I haven't played basketball in so long, and I'm so passionate and I love the game, and I don't do it for any other reason except for to compete and go up against the best to try to prove that I can hang", Butler said.
Alas, it was not to be: In a draft-night deal, the Bulls traded Butler to the Timberwolves in June 2017 in a move that apparently has not been "good for him". That's why they made that draft-night trade with the Bulls previous year. Most of the players knew the invectives were directed at Towns and Wiggins, league sources said.
Minnesota has engaged many teams in trade talks, Miami in particular, before those negotiations broke down over the weekend.
