Amy Schumer Detained at Protest Against Brett Kavanaugh

Another Twitter user shared a video of Schumer at the protest, adding, "MY MOM AND AMY SCHUMER ARE GETTING ARRESTED TOGETHER AND AMY SAID HI TO ME". Among them was Schumer, who is involved with the Time's Up movement against sexual violence and harassment and is a distant relative of the Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer, and the model Emily Ratajkowski.

Additional footage shows them waiting to be processed near a wall with officers.

Amy Schumer was confronted by a cop as she attended the #StopKavanaugh protest in Washington, DC, on Thursday.

Ratajkowski has confirmed she was detained amid the chaos and there have been images posted on TV and online of Schumer's arrest.

Later, Washington Post reporter Marissa Lang wrote on Twitter that Schumer was, in fact, arrested.

"Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault", Ratajkowski tweeted Thursday. "Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power".

As "Cancel Kavanaugh" protesters took over the Hart Senate Office Building near the Capitol, Schumer and other protesters were seen with their backs against a wall, surrounded by Capitol Police.

The protesters then moved to the Hart building.

Following Kavanaugh's nomination and his initial hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Christine Blasey Ford came forward with an allegation that Kavanaugh sexually and physically assaulted her while they were both at a party during high school more than three decades ago.

Schumer's most recent tweet is from last week when Senator Jeff Flake agreed to ask the FBI to open an investigation into Kavanaugh.
