Throughout the last few months, the Seattle Seahawks have been in the midst of a hard internal situation with star safety Earl Thomas' contract situation.
"People that are criticizing whatever happened don't understand that this is an earth-shattering moment for a kid, " Carroll said, saying Thomas "Went right to what it's going to take to get back". "He's trying to play this game he loves and all of sudden this happens again", Carroll said, via ESPN. "I think sometimes you have to allow people to have their emotions". So give him a little slack.
Carroll confirmed that Thomas' injury is season-ending and that Thomas hasn't decided on whether to have surgery.

In the doubles, Shuko Aoyama and Lidziya Marozava beat Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic 6-2, 7-5. She will next face Aryna Sabalenka , who defeated 2016 runner-up Dominika Cibulkova 7-5, 6-3.
"He said make sure we win this game", said linebacker Bobby Wagner, the last teammate to address Thomas before he was carted into the locker room. "This is a very, very hard moment that most people wouldn't understand what that was all about".
Is there anyone outside of the Seattle Seahawks' front office not sympathetic to the worries of safety Earl Thomas? This is the same kind of injury that Jimmy Graham had in 2016 and it seemed to take Graham some time to get back to being fully healthy.
Carroll gets it. Thomas knew all along. "Team owners such as Jerry Jones, who recently said of the National Football League players he employs, "[they're] paid a lot of money to go out and incur those type [of] situations that have more risks in them".
Despite the missed practices, Thomas has been productive, notching three interceptions in as many games before Sunday.
