After he did so, Bears defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris sacked him and landed right on Rodgers' left knee.

After struggling a bit early then going down with an injury, quarterback Aaron Rodgers orchestrated a marvelous comeback.

Rodgers joined the rest of the offense for the Packers' first drive of the second half with about 9 minutes left in the third quarter.

The Chicago Bears almost had a superb upset to start the 2018 National Football League season against the rival Green Bay Packers, which was fueled by recently-acquired star Khalil Mack. The look on his face was not promising for fans hoping for his return.

Chicago Bears new outside linebacker Khalil Mack is expected to play in a limited fashion, as is their rookie signing Roquan Smith, ESPN reports. But the offense was stalled again on fourth down as a sack-fumble put an end to a nightmare game that started like a dream.

In the first half of his first outing in blue and orange, Mack recorded a strip sack, ran back a pick-six to push the Bears' lead and added another sack on top of all that.

Although favoring his left leg in the second half, Rodgers completed 17-of-23 passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns to key the improbable victory.

Forty-eight production platforms in offshore production area remained evacuated on Wednesday, six fewer than on Tuesday. Mayors of barrier islands in the storm's path had warned that their communities might get cut off from the mainland.

It was Green Bay's largest fourth-quarter comeback win in franchise history.

"I prepared all off-season for the first game of the season and I wanted to ... make an impact", Mack said.

"(I was thinking) something special", he said. Following Rodgers' recent whopper of an extension, he will count for $20.9 million this year, $26.5 million in 2019 and $32.6 million and $33.5 million, respectively, in the two seasons beyond that. He also found Davante Adams and Geronimo Allison for touchdown passes.

When Bears fans closed their eyes and imagined the ideal opening to the Matt Nagy era, they might have imagined a few things. The ovation from the crowd lifts you up, gives the energy, the momentum of the game, and you feel the tide turning.

Mitchell Trubisky was 23 of 35 for 171 yards.

Trubisky has also scored on a 2-yard run.

"You know we talked about finishing and we didn't do that", Nagy said.
