The clause is set at a whopping €100m but Chelsea and Roman Abramovich are keen to act quickly as their current number one Thibaut Courtois looks set to complete his big move to Real Madrid.

All of Chelsea's worldwide players were expected to return to training on Monday, but the BBC has now claimed that the Belgian shot-stopper was nowhere to be seen, while Eden Hazard, who is also said to be on Real's radar, was seen at the club's training ground.

New Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri had declared he would talk to the player first to gauge if he wanted to stay or not, rather than listen to the agent, but the writing is on the wall now surely.

Courtois has reportedly communicated his desire to leave with the Stamford Bridge-based club, and that he does not see his future in England.

After Chelsea's FA Cup final win in Conte's final game in charge, Willian, who had been left on the bench, posted a picture on Instagram with the Italian blocked out by three trophy emojis in a picture of the whole team celebrating.

The 26-year-old Belgium worldwide was granted an extended rest after his country finished third at the World Cup, but he was scheduled to return to training following Chelsea's 2-0 loss to Manchester City in the Community Shield.

The transfer window for incoming players to Premier League clubs closes this Thursday, but Luiz is adamant the Blues have enough quality even if Courtois and Hazard go.

On Monday, the last lot of Chelsea's players that made deep runs at the 2018 FIFA World Cup were supposed to report back and while compatriot Eden Hazard wasn't tardy, Courtois was nowhere to be seen.

"He's a fantastic player and a fantastic friend", the defender said. It depends especially on him, I think.
