He also said the meeting was "totally legal" and he did not know about it. Weija Jiang reports.

The lawyer recalled the moment he realized he was starting to get under Trump's skin: "He's calling me a 'third-rate lawyer, ' I though it was pretty good that he was saying that because it meant that finally, after nearly two hours, that I had gotten to him".

The report alleged Trump is increasingly anxious about his eldest son becoming ensnared in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation.

While originally Trump, a Republican, said the meeting was about adoptions, on Sunday he said on Twitter that it was about getting information on Clinton.

That misleading statement, which the White House later admitted was drafted with the president's help, said the Trump Tower meeting was about a law governing adoptions from Russian Federation rather than a meeting to get negative information about Clinton.

Quickly, though, that explanation fell apart, and we learned that Trump Jr had actually been promised harmful information about Democrats, including Hillary Clinton.

Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow nevertheless attempted to rationalize the 2016 meeting as legal in an interview Sunday on ABC's This Week.

That Sekulow had misstated the origin of the July 2017 statement provided to The New York Times and attributed to Donald Trump Jr. became clear earlier this year, in a leaked letter from Trump's legal team to Mueller's office. And despite Trump's public Twitter denial, the president has expressed worry that his son may face legal exposure even as he believes he did nothing wrong, according to three people close to the White House familiar with the president's thinking but not authorized to speak publicly about private conversations.

Kambli recalled one of his ODI centuries back in 1996 and found similarities with the kind of celebration Kohli did on Thursday. Root was looking set to get a big one but a brilliant piece of fielding from Kohli saw the right-hander getting run-out for 80.

When the meeting first became public knowledge a year ago, Trump personally dictated a statement for public release claiming that the meeting was called to discuss resuming adoptions of orphaned Russian babies by United States citizens. This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics - and it went nowhere. At one point, Trump even began attacking the attorney, and his reputation, much like Americans are seeing the Trump team has attacked Michael Avenatti.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is examining whether Trump campaign members coordinated with Russian Federation to sway the White House race in his favour.

"The question is how will it be illegal?" Betraying no surprise or misgivings about the offer from a hostile foreign power, Trump Jr. replied: "If it's what you say I love it especially later in the summer".

He described the answers as "nonresponsive", where Trump would "add things on" or "make self-serving statements" that didn't make any sense within the context of the question.

Sekulow also said that Trump has not decided whether he would voluntarily sit for an interview with U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who was appointed to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election and any possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Moscow officials.

Sekulow said that the president had the authority under Article II of the US Constitution to stop any investigation conducted by the Department of Justice.

One of the names at the center of the Trump/Russia scandal, which continues to pop up, is the President's eldest son Donald Trump Jr.

"Donald Trump is every attorney's worst nightmare", said Rick Wilson, a Republican political consultant and prominent Trump critic.
