The 29-year-old has announced his decision to retire from worldwide football following the backlash he received after meeting with Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan before the World Cup.

Arsenal's Mesut Ozil avoided any talk of the controversy surrounding his withdrawal from worldwide football and has opted to focus on the club's preseason friendly tournament in Singapore.

Emery says he has not yet spoken to Ozil about his decision, which was explained across several lengthy statements on Twitter.

Mesut Ozil was among the selected Arsenal players that travelled to Singapore for the Pre-Season tour of the North Londoners and the player has revealed his excitement towards the upcoming matches where they will play against three top European clubs including their arch rivals Chelsea.

The German Football Association said it "emphatically rejected" Ozil's accusations of racism.

"I am German when we win, but I am an immigrant when we lose", Ozil wrote, adding: "Certain German newspapers are using my background and photo with President Erdogan as right-wing propaganda to further their political cause". "I´m looking at every player and I think Mesut, he has here the respect of every player".

'He has experience, he has quality and he has a great mentality and we are going to help him feel good and to show his quality with us.

Ozil has not commented about his decision since his arrival in Singapore on Monday with Arsenal.

"For him it´s one thing with the national team and another with us", Emery said.

"It's a personal decision".

Arsenal play Atletico Madrid on Thursday before facing Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday. "It's our second time here and we really enjoy coming", he told a gathering of Arsenal fans a day ahead of a friendly against Atletico Madrid at the National Stadium.

And the 29-year-old seemed to be in good shape as he prepared himself for his first training session under the new man in charge at The Emirates.

"As a team we support him here, we try to make sure he feels good, so he can train and perform at his best", said Cech.
