A rescue official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AFP the timings of Tuesday's dives were not yet set. "Now I'm just very happy for the kids and their families and everyone involved in the rescue".

The mission to save the last 4 members of a Thai soccer team and their coach, who have been trapped in a cave for more than two weeks, has begun.

"All five will be brought out at the same time today", said the head of the rescue mission, Narongsak Osottanakornon, on Tuesday.

Somboon Sompiangjai, 38, the father of one of the trapped boys, said parents had been told by rescuers that the "strongest children" would be brought out first.

"On behalf of the United States, congratulations to the Thai Navy SEALs and all on the successful rescue of the 12 boys and their coach from the treacherous cave in Thailand", Trump said on Twitter.

They have no fever or serious ailments, said public health permanent secretary Dr Jesada Chokedamrongsuk at a press conference on Tuesday (July 10).

Efforts to rescue the boys - aged between 11 and 16 - got going again on Monday after a break to replenish oxygen supplies and make other preparations deep inside the cave complex. Scattered monsoon rains continued to risk percolating through the limestone cave walls to flood the tunnels with water. "I hope today we will be faster or the same speed as yesterday", Narongsak said.

The optimistic mood was in contrast to the saddened atmosphere at the cave last week, after former Thai Navy SEAL Saman Kunan, 37, died while laying air tanks underground on Thursday.

British divers found the 13 a week ago.

Thongchai Lertwilairattanapong, Inspector General of the Public Health Ministry, said the first four boys taken out on Sunday were eating normal and plain food.

Two of the boys are thought to have lung infections, but there are no serious complaints to report. The rescued boys are still being held in quarantine for testing and have not been able to have direct contact with their parents yet.

Elon Musk and a team of SpaceX engineers built a mini submarine to try to help the youth soccer team and coach who were trapped in a Thai cave by rising waters. "Leaving here in case it may be useful in the future".
