Johnson said that now that she's free, she wants to fight hard for prison reform, including making sure people incarcerated are ready to rejoin society when their "miracle" does come. "Despite receiving a life sentence, Alice worked hard to rehabilitate herself in prison, and act as a mentor to her fellow inmates", the statement read.
"I would pull out my family pictures and look at my children - and I hoped to see my parents again".
