Cohen was not named as a defendant in the lawsuit, which seeks compensatory and punitive damages, but faces a separate defamation lawsuit by Daniels. A total con job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!' along with the photo.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has also said that a man physically threatened her to remain quiet about her affair with Trump in 2011.

Daniels has been locked in a legal battle with President Trump, seeking to invalidate a nondisclosure agreement she and Cohen had signed more than a decade ago.

Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti noted on Twitter that defamation requires a statement to be damaging, and certain false statements, such as lying about someone committing a crime, are "presumed to be damaging". Daniels claims the man approached her and her infant daughter in a Las Vegas parking lot and tried to intimidate her into staying silent. Prior to that ruling, Cohen had filed to assert his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination in the civil case over a confidentiality agreement that Daniels signed in October 2016.

"A guy walked up on me and said to me: 'Leave Trump alone". The man then looked at Daniels' young daughter and said, "That's a attractive little girl".

Chelsea controlled the first half, with Eden Hazard impressing, and might have put the game out of sight before the interval. If Swansea should be losing hope after six Premier League games without a win, nobody has told them.

In her lawsuit, Daniels claims that the tweet was "false and defamatory", that Trump knew it was false, that Trump knew that it would be read by millions of people, and that since the tweet, she has been subjected to "death threats and other threats of physical violence".

"In making the statement, Mr. Trump used his national and global audience of millions of people to make a false factual statement to denigrate and attack Ms. Clifford".

In the suit, Clifford said that Trump made "false and defamatory" statements about her in an April 18 tweet. She says she met him in a hotel room, just weeks after his third wife Melania gave birth to their first child Barron.

The next day, Trump, who has denied through White House press officials allegations that he had an affair with Daniels, responded to the composite sketch on his Twitter account.
