"Oxlade-Chamberlain is probably a really bad injury", Jurgen Klopp told BT Sport.

Liverpool suffered an early blow during their UEFA Champions League semi-final against AS Roma on Tuesday, as star midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had to come off with an injury in the first half.

"It doesn't look good".

Georginio Wijnaldum, who replaced Oxlade-Chamberlain during the tie, said: "I just spoke with him in the dressing room and what the manager said is hard".

Oxlade-Chamberlain has enjoyed a breakout season in 2017-18, his first with the Reds after a lengthy spell with Arsenal.

"I am a very positive person and hope it only feels bad, but all the medical department are quite concerned without a scan".

It was an emotional moment for the last two housemates as Ebuka led them through the house for the last time. Paul later deleted the video but it was shared across social media as fans celebrated Miracle's win.

The Echo's James Pearce shed light on Liverpool's initial view of the injury, fearing he could miss the World Cup.

"The biggest problem that we have today 100 percent is that we lost Oxlade-Chamberlain, who played brilliant as long he was in", Klopp said in a postgame television interview.

"But I said it a few times, obviously the Liverpool way is always a little bit harder".

Gareth Southgate's England team was likely to have included Oxlade-Chamberlain, too, and the manager's final 23-man squad will surely need a replacement unless his knee injury is less serious than anticipated.

The 24-year-old was able to hobble from the side of the pitch, but a stretcher took the former Arsenal midfielder down the tunnel in the 23rd minute of the contest.
