That Spider-Man game for PS4 that's been in the works from Insomniac for what seems like forever finally has an official release date: September 7, 2018. It's been an incredible experience for us to spend the last few years working on this game. Titled Marvel's Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps, these three chapters will include new costumes, new villains and more. Those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition in the United States or Canada will also bag themselves a limited edition collectible pin (it will be mailed to them). Insomniac Games has made other PlayStation offerings such as "Resistance" and "Ratchet & Clank".

Story wise, the game is mostly sticking to the same Marvel characters and there won't be any original additions for the game.

In an interview in the latest issue of Game Informer, Intihar also revealed that Mary Jane will be much different from the comic books. You betcha, true believers - we've got both.

Sony just announced the all-important release date, along with the game's box-art, and two deluxe editions.

ESPN goes with 'plus' branding for streaming service
ESPN + will give those that have cut the cord, access to a wide variety of different kinds of sports programming. When the 2018-19 hockey season begins next fall, you'll also be able to tack on NHL .TV for an extra fee.

The Collector's Edition of Marvel's Spider-Man will include all of the digital content available in the Digital Deluxe version. Pay extra special attention to the statue though and you'll notice something is obviously missing. What could that be?

So far it looks wonderful, but as with their reveal trailer, Insomniac has only used the 4K capable PS4 Pro to show off the footage. Pre-orders went live shortly after the announcement. Let us know in the comments. It looks like, possibly, the coolest video game ever!

We do get to see a little bit of the non-scripted melee combat, where Spider-Man whips out a wooden crate and breaks it over the head of an enemy, while also getting low and webbing up another guy.

Spider-Man will head to PS4 in 2018, it's been confirmed ahead of a specific release date reveal. From the looks of the demo footage, this game is set to be highly detailed and actually capture the abilities of Spider-Man.
