The headline announcement of Huawei's recent Paris event may have been the introduction of the new P20 series, but as revealed in a recent leak, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched the Mate RS, designed in collaboration with Porsche Design. Instead, the notch contains the earpiece, the proximity, and ambient light sensors as well as the front camera.

The main focus just like all the other P-series lineup is the camera and Huawei took the photography game to the next level by introducing three cameras on the rear with the P20 Pro, with the setup being an wonderful 40MP+20MP+8MP with a sensor size of 1.55um, the biggest in any phone and it is the only phone in the world that comes wit ha 40MP the main camera. With the Mate 10 Pro now around £500 - a phone with similar internals, an OLED display and microSD card expansion, by the way - the P20's camera will have to be absolutely wonderful to entice anyone to buy it.

Contrary to speculation, the innovative technology is not in the new Huawei P20 nor the P20 Pro, but in the new Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS.

I got the chance to test the P20 Pro for about 45 minutes ahead of the device's launch, and in limited testing, the phone was, indeed, able to capture sharper images at 5X zoom than the iPhone X. Blowback from the USA government over security concerns with Huawei products, especially its networking infrastructure equipment, has caused U.S. carriers and major retailer BestBuy to yank their support.

The Pro model offers the highest specifications, with a three-lens camera on the back and a larger, 6.1-inch screen with Full View display. Oh, and did we say there's a fingerprint scanner below the display which also supports navigation gestures so that you don't have to rely on on-screen navigation buttons?

We're not pulling your leg, Huawei showed off a few shots during its presentation and they look great. The system is made up of a 40MP RGB sensor, a 20MP monochrome sensor and an 8MP sensor with a telephoto lens. This was all down to the neural processing unit (NPU) and the Kirin 970, which the new P20 and P20 Pro share.

Twitter Confirms Crypto Ad Ban Starts Today
Reading into Twitter's position, it appears that Initial Coin Offerings ( ICOs ) are the main trigger behind the move. There are usually no transaction charges for cryptocurrency exchanges as the miners are paid by the network.

Elsewhere you'll find a Kirin 970 processor in both the P20 and P20 Prom 6GB of RAM in the Pro and 4GB of RAM on the standard P20.

This screen covers nearly the entire front of the phone but Huawei has left a chin at the bottom which allows it to have feature a fingerprint scanner on the front.

Talking about the cameras, the Huawei P20 sports a dual camera setup to the back. The phone packs 3400 mAh battery with support to Huawei SuperCharge. This camera setup features AI Image Stabilization and can also record slow-motion videos at a whopping 960 frames/second.

The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro are available at the following prices from local online retailer Technomobi. The P20 is available in black, midnight blue, twilight and pink gold and champagne gold while the P20 Pro is available in all those colours except champagne gold.

The camera system, especially on the P20 Pro is so good, apparently DxOMark has given it the highest score ever for a mobile phone and checking out the photos (especially the low light ones), it is quite impressive.

What really makes the headlines for this device, though, is the camera array. The rest of the features include USB type C port, no headphone jack and they run Android 8.1 out of the box.
