North Korea agrees for inter-Korean diplomatic talks next week

U.S. President Donald Trump's proposed meeting with Kim is still up in the air.

"Enhancing the US" tough stand against North Korea, Trump administration officials, including the President, have emphasised a possible preventive military attack against North Korea.

The Koreas agreed earlier this month that their leaders would meet in late April, on the South Korean side of Panmunjom.

North Korea has agreed to hold high-level talks with South Korea on March 29 at the inter-border truce village of Panmunjeom to prepare for a summit of their leaders planned for April, the South said on Saturday, according to Reuters.

The statement gave no end date for the exercises, and it is unclear whether USA aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines would participate as they have in previous war games.
