After teasing this news for months, Cynthia Nixon FINALLY confirmed that she's running for Governor of NY.

"Governor Cuomo wants to eliminate New York's obligation to provide schools statewide with $4.3 billion in additional funding, including almost $287 million for schools in Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam counties", she said. "She's really smart - she asks a lot of questions, and she sees the way all of these issues are tied together by the way money in politics works in NY". Our leadership is letting us down. "We are the most unequal state in the entire country, with both incredible wealth and extreme poverty".

When asked earlier this month about Nixon's apparent interest in challenging him, Gov. Cuomo cracked jokes about "Russian interference".

Nixon herself has been politically involved for 17 years, fighting for education funding, marriage equality, women's reproductive rights and more. 60 percent of voters, The New York Times noted, had no opinion of Nixon despite her time on a hit television series.

After the hearing, Borges' father described his determination to see Cruz in court as his son recovers in the hospital. He faces 17 counts of premeditated murder in the first degree and 17 counts of attempted murder in the first degree.

According to The New York Times, Cuomo's name was mentioned 163 times during Joseph Percoco's eight-week federal trial. "I've never wanted to live anywhere else, but something has to change".

Nixon isn't just an actress, she's also a mom of three, with a passion for public education.

Nixon, who is close to left-leaning New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, echoes some of the language used by 2016 Democratic Party presidential contender Bernie Sanders, who electrified the left before ultimately losing to Hillary Clinton.

She's a hard-working activist who's more than her famous characters, supporters like Rosie O'Donnell said.

Former Syracuse mayor Stephanie Miner, a Democrat who has clashed with Cuomo, also has been considering entering the race. "We are sick of politicians who care more about power than they do about us".

In 2014, the party was split between Cuomo and Teachout, but ultimately choose Cuomo after he vowed to forward progressive policies in his second term - including helping Democrats win control of the state Senate, which hasn't happened.
