Buckeyes headed to Boise as No. 5 seed

This is the 11th time in program history and the first time since 2013 that the Wildcats are headed to the NCAA Tournament.

The Ohio State women's basketball team will be a #3 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

When the at-large bids were announced during the Selection Show, it was no surprise to see Ohio State's name called. However the Buckeyes tournament stay didn't last long, losing to the Penn State Nittany Lions in the quarterfinals.

The team is led by Kelsey Mitchell, who averages 24.5 points per game. Ohio State also must find a way to stop South Dakota State's 6-foot-9 forward Mike Daum, the conference player of the year after averaging 23.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

No. 15 Arizona, USC battle for Pac-12 crown
Arizona won the only regular season meeting between these two teams , beating USC at home 81-67 in Tucson on February 10. Alkins could not convert on a short jumper in the lane and committed a foul on the rebound attempt with 30 seconds left.

The Buckeyes will begin their tournament run with a match-up vs. the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State on Thursday at 4 p.m.

The 5/12 game is infamous for upsets - the No. 12 seed is 11-13 in the past six NCAA tournaments - and the Jackrabbits present an intriguing matchup for the Buckeyes, who last played March 2. (16.1), Reed Tellinghuisen (12.0) and Tevin King (9.3).

The 2017-18 Ohio State roster has seven games of NCAA Tournament experience and two starts, both by Jae'Sean Tate, entering the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Junior forward Keita Bates-Diop led the Big Ten on the defensive glass and ranked 20th in the nation in that category. One of four active head coaches to win at least one NCAA Tournament game in his first three years at a school, Holtmann is 4-3 in NCAA Tournament contests, advancing to the "Sweet 16" a season ago.

On the season, South Dakota State basketball averages 84.9 points, 39.0 rebounds and 13.5 assists per game.
