Palestinian killed in West Bank clashes with Israeli forces

Clashes broke out Friday afternoon in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli soldiers, after calls made by various Palestinian factions.

Maliki expressly mentioned the 1980 Arab League summit in Jordan, when the 22-member states proclaimed that they would "sever all ties with states that transfer their embassies to Jerusalem or recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital".

A Palestinian young man died of his wounds suffered during clashes with Israeli soldiers on Friday afternoon in the West Bank, local medics said.

Dozens of Palestinians protested throughout the West Bank on Friday including in the cities of Hebron, Nablus, Ramllah and in Kfar Kadum.

Demonstrators, for their part, hurled stones and empty bottles at troops and blocked roads with flaming auto tires.

The Health Ministry in Gaza also reported three wounded in clashes by the border with Israel, one severely and two moderately.

In line with global law, the European Union said it does not recognise Israelآ's sovereignty over the territories occupied by Israel since June 1967, including East Jerusalem, and does not consider them to be part of Israelآ's territory, irrespective of their legal status under domestic Israeli law.
