India's largest vehicle manufacturer, by volume, Maruti Suzuki has finally launched its much awaited hatchback the all-new Swift at the Auto Expo 2018 on February 7. The carmaker had started the bookings for the 2018 Swift last month, at a booking amount of Rs 11,000. The petrol option will have a 1.2-litre engine, while the diesel variants will have a 1.3-litre engine. In terms of equipment, the new Swift gets LED projector headlamps, 7-inch touch-screen SmartPlay infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link support, automatic climate control system, reverse parking camera, engine start/stop button, parking sensors and much more.

The Swift was first launched in India in 2005. Keeping the familiar Swift silhouette and wrap-around windows intact, the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with a reformed front and rear. The dual-pod instrument cluster on the dashboard looks premium, to say the least, and the steering wheel design adds a very sporty touch to it.

Maruti Suziki Swift's new model still looks like the older auto but is more aerodynamic and has a higher wheelbags, so there's a little more space for the rear seat passengers. The rear of the auto also gets LED lighting.
The model development cost for Swift is over Rs 700 crore. The 1.3-litre DDiS oil burner is capable of producing 74 BHP of maximum power and 190 Nm of peak torque. Both motors will be paired to either a five-speed manual transmission or automatic transmission.
The model is equipped with Maruti's auto gear shift technology, which would enhance fuel efficiency and convenience, according to Ayukawa. The VDi AGS will be available at Rs 7.34 lakh and ZDi AGS will be sold for Rs 7.96 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). Coming to the interiors, the 2018 Swift sports an all-black cabin with a new dashboard layout.
