The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention released the new data on Wednesday, bringing the total for this season - which began last October and runs through May but is nearing its peak - to nearly 3,300 cases, as well as 667 hospitalizations and 34 deaths.

This flu season is hitting hard, and the local impact is widespread. Although this would normally not cause civilians any alarm, it so happens that this flu season has been touted as one of the worst ones as of late.

This year's flu season has been tougher than most, but there's still time to get a flu shot.

Tragically, the flu has killed more than 50 children this season and hospitalized other several thousands kids.

However, health professionals say those who get the flu after having received a flu shot typically have milder symptoms.

South Africa's ANC Meets To Decide Fate Of President Jacob Zuma
Mr Zuma could leave office either by resigning, through losing a vote of no-confidence in parliament or impeachment proceedings. Mr Zuma, who spent time in prison for his part in the fight against apartheid, met the ANC's top six on Sunday.

"The flu vaccine is made based on projections", he said. The Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study (JAGES) project is one of the largest cohort studies of social determinants of health among Japanese adults aged ≥65 years.

According to annual surveys funded by ECDC and World Health Organization, although 34 000 (over 75 percent) of these deaths in Europe are among people aged 65 years or above, vaccine uptake remains low in this group. "We seem to be seeing more of that maybe this year than we have in years past". When those of high school age are added in, the overall number of school-age children affected by the flu this season rises to 400. And they also take the additional step of collecting swabs from some of those people so that we can know what viruses are actually going around. For example, clean/disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. While most children recover from the flu, some can have severe and sometimes fatal infections, but that has been rare in Nebraska. Those who get the flu after getting a flu shot would have gotten the flu anyway, and the flu shot might have reduced symptoms of that flu. It's an early prediction, but flu season could drag on until May, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

'Supporting one's immune system with good rest and adequate hydration may help reduce the severity of symptoms, ' Dr Brian Secemsky, an internist at One Medical in San Francisco, told Daily Mail Online. The main difference is that the flu brings muscle aches and body pain along with an accompanying headache.

"We also recommend that you just stay home, except to go to the doctor, just stay home".

The virus is widespread in 48 states, including Texas and Alabama, after OR dropped down to regional level to join Hawaii.
